Processing of photo and video recordings at events

Last update: 08.10.2025

Photos and videos may be taken during our events. These serve to document the event and our public relations work, in particular through publication on our website, in our social media channels, in print media or in other publications.

The processing is based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. For specific individual photographs (e.g. portraits or advertising subjects), we obtain separate consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

Storage period

The recordings are stored for as long as they are required for the stated purposes. As soon as these purposes no longer apply or there is no longer a legitimate interest in further storage, the recordings are deleted or – if deletion is not technically possible – blocked for further processing.

In the case of publications in print media or on the Internet (e.g. website, social media), the recordings may be permanently accessible. Please note that in the case of publication on the Internet, worldwide retrievability cannot be ruled out and a one-off publication effectively corresponds to an unlimited storage period.

Recipients

We may pass on the images to commissioned photographers, PR/advertising agencies, printers and companies within our group of companies insofar as this is necessary to achieve the stated purposes.

In the case of publications in social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram), the processing is also carried out by the respective platform operators. We have no influence on the data processing there; the data protection provisions of the respective provider apply.

Right to object

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform the photographer or event organiser of this on site.
