Martin Steinkellner

Even as a child, Martin Steinkellner, who grew up in the Carinthian Lavanttal valley, knew that he would become a chef. After completing his apprenticeship at the former Zoitl restaurant in Bad St. Leonhard, he worked as a commis de cuisine at Bull’s Lane at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg and later as a demi chef at G’Schlössl Murtal in Großlobming.

Since 2013, the friendly, down-to-earth Carinthian is in the kitchen of the Steirerschlössl in Zeltweg, where he is in charge as head chef since 2018. He leads his team according to the motto: “The most important thing is to inspire our guests. With exceptional dishes made from honest, regional ingredients, our tangible passion in the preparation and the sophistication of the variety of flavors through the finely tuned, individual seasoning with fresh herbs.” This turns every course into a unique culinary experience, because cooking strictly according to a recipe is not Steinkellner’s style.
