Close your eyes and imagine spending the most beautiful day of your life in a baroque ambience. In an elegant setting, but characterised by the down-to-earth warmth that Styrian hosts are simply born with.
Impressive, originally preserved stucco ceilings in modernly furnished suites, the large wedding suite, cosy parlours for intimate parties and a large garden with a romantic parlour. For large celebrations with many well-wishers, we decorate the large or small Hofwirtsaal according to your wishes.
The Hofwirt is blessed by its proximity to the Benedictine Abbey, in whose basilica you have the option of a church wedding ceremony.

Premises
Klosterstube
The character of the former monastery parlour (“Klosterstube”) has been preserved to this day, albeit stylishly renovated. The wood panelling on the walls is still original, and the wooden tables and chairs convey a sense of atmosphere: Feel at home in an upscale, rustic ambience!
Celebrations for up to 40 people are also very popular here. And it is not uncommon for the tables to be arranged to form a table, as was once customary. By the way: the ceilings play a major role throughout the Hofwirt. The ceiling in the Klosterstube is painted: White with blue ornaments.
Large Hofwirtsaal
There is also a modern Hofwirt, whereby modern refers more to the architecture, because the traditional warmth is home-made and is also the credo here. We are talking about the large Hofwirtsaal. Thanks to the continuous glass façades in the centre of the garden, parties, weddings and meetings are held here all year round.
The reasons for coming together here range from births to diamond weddings. It is not uncommon for couples to get married again after 60 years in the monastery and celebrate a long life together with their loved ones. Directly from the large Hofwirtsaal, whose glass fronts can be fully opened in summer, there is access to the garden with its pavilion.
Restaurant garden
The Hofwirt has many sides, and one particularly beautiful one is the large garden with its Salettl. Music evenings, jazz brunches, civil weddings or simply smaller party groups of up to 15 people will find their own paradise here, in the centre of the Hofwirt and yet all to themselves.
During the summer months, it is usually very quiet in the parlours, but the guest garden (“Gastgarten”) is all the livelier. The first guests arrive as early as midday to either sit in the shade of three ancient chestnut trees on the village square or to enjoy the view of the abbey, the “Seckauer Tauern” mountains, the playground and the green lawn on the side of the Hofwirt. It continues seamlessly to snack time and into the balmy evening hours…
Taproom & vault
The pub (“Schankstube”) with the obligatory regulars’ table is a story in itself. There is always an accordion on the bar itself. Ready for a cheerful musician to play. The general rule here is: Come in, play, make music, chat, eat and have a nice drink. In contrast to the “Klosterstube”, where things are usually quieter, the old but beautifully renovated wooden ceiling ensures that the acoustics are harmonious…
Right next door, in the small vaulted room (“Gwölb”), up to 20 people like to meet to celebrate their family celebrations with traditional Styrian cuisine.
Small Hofwirtsaal
Formerly known as the “Hofladen”, the charming building behind the Hofwirt can now be booked exclusively for business and private events: from an atmospheric wedding or birthday party, a christening or graduation to unforgettable Christmas parties, impressive product presentations or inspiring conferences. You will be spoilt with culinary delights from the Hofwirt’s kitchen.
The small Hofwirtsaal invites you to feel at home with its reduced rustic furnishings, as does the spacious terrace, which can be used at any time.
Three heavy wooden tables offer space for 30 people, the capacity of the room can be extended to up to 60 people using bar tables.
Wine cellar
According to records, the foundation walls of this charming cellar date back to the 13th century. Some of these foundation walls can still be seen today and if they could talk, they would certainly have exciting stories to tell.
The wine cellar (“Weinkeller”) can be booked for special and unforgettable private and business celebrations for up to eight people. Enjoy Styrian culinary delights from snacks to traditional delicacy platters to the popular Hofwirt dessert variation accompanied by exceptional wines, mainly from local winegrowers.
