The Gasthaus Krenn has been part of Pürgg since the 14th century and has embodied Lived hospitality for just as long. During the day, guests enjoy home-style cooking in a relaxed atmosphere, while in the evening the inn is transformed into a traditional restaurant.
Old wood, genuine farmhouse linen and many other details contribute to the charming atmosphere. Here it is simply “giving time to time”, to stay, to meet people.
The parlour
The view of the Church of St. George, the former Alpenhotel Adam, where Peter Rosegger was a guest, and the centre of Pürgg make this room a special experience.
Sitting next to the tiled stove is particularly cosy in the colder months, and when the linen tablecloths embroidered with cross-stitch are uncovered in the evening, the cosy ambience of an old farmhouse is emphasised once again. Our cosy parlour can accommodate up to 30 people.
The veranda
Our veranda conveys the rustic feeling of sitting in the middle of nature, with a view of the mountain massif and green meadows. Guests who have known the culinary delights and atmosphere of Gasthaus Krenn for years know that free seats on the popular veranda are rare.
So many souls have come and gone here that you wish the old wooden walls could reflect the beautiful stories that guests have told each other over dinner. Up to 25 people can be seated on our special veranda.
The guest garden
It’s not just the traditional parlour that invites you to linger at Gasthaus Krenn. The guest garden also plays an important role here. The romantic guest garden was created in the centre of Pürgg, from where you can enjoy a wonderful romantic view.
Whether in spring, when the first rays of sunshine make their way over the Grimming, in summer to enjoy the balmy evenings or in autumn to watch the leaves change colour – our guest garden is a place to pause and enjoy. In the cold season, this place is transformed into a winter wonderland with lovely decorations. Guests’ eyes sparkle – young and old.
